The Minature Tackle Box

Are you ready to take your survival and preparedness game to the next level with a fishing tackle box that can fit in the palm of your hand? We've got you covered! In this guide, we'll show you how to create a super-compact emergency fishing kit that will easily slide into your pocket or prep kit.

This tiny tackle box, nestled inside a small metal tin, is a game-changer when it comes to emergency fishing on the go. So, whether you're a seasoned angler or just looking to add a valuable skill to your survival repertoire, let's dive into the details of this pint-sized fishing solution.

What's Inside Your Mini Tackle Box:

  • 50 lb Test on Bobbin (Series-L): This robust line will ensure you're prepared for reeling in some serious catches.
  • 2 Fishing Swivels: Swivels add flexibility to your line, reducing the chances of tangling and making your fishing experience smoother.
  • 2 Small Split Shots (Weights): These little weights will help your bait sink to the right depth, increasing your chances of hooking a fish.
  • 1 Small Wire Fishing Leader: A leader prevents fish with sharp teeth from biting through your line and escaping.
  • 2 Eagle Claw Fishhooks on Leaders: Trusty hooks that are ready to secure your catch when the moment strikes.
  • Small Fishing Lure or Fly on Leader: Sometimes, a little extra temptation is all you need to entice the fish.
  • Single Razor Blade: This versatile tool has various uses, including cutting line and fashioning makeshift fishing gear.

Feel free to customize the contents for your area when it comes to hook size, line strength, or whatever can fit in your kit.

Tips for Assembling Your Mini Tackle Box:

  • Choose a Series-L Bobbin: It's crucial to select the right bobbin, and Series L is the perfect fit for this miniature tackle box.  Many popular bobbins for sewing machines will be too tall and will not fit.
  • Value the Razor Blade: Don't underestimate the utility of a single razor blade—it's a handy multitool in your fishing arsenal.
  • Line Strength Options: While we recommend 50 lb test line, you can adjust the line strength to your preference.
  • Improvised Fishing: You'll need to craft your fishing pole from natural materials and find bait in your surroundings.
  • Bright tape on the razor blade and tin:  I put a piece of orange tape on the razor blade and its paper casing (as well as the tin itself) in case I drop it.  It won't do you any good if you can't find it!
  • Secure Leaders with the Tin Lid: To keep your leaders from springing out, use the tin's secure lid to hold them in place during transport.

They are not only excellent for your miniature tackle box but also serve various purposes, such as organizing lip balm, candies, mints, beads, or even gardening seeds and pills.
