Prepper Church Service - Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025

Welcome and Introduction

Welcome to Prepper Church on this Easter Sunday. Today, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ—the moment that changed everything. To help us understand this profound event, we'll draw a parallel from the popular game Minecraft. In Minecraft, when a player dies, they can respawn and continue playing. But in real life, death is final—except for one extraordinary event: Jesus' resurrection. Unlike a game mechanic, Jesus' victory over death was real, permanent, and offers eternal life to all who believe.

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who conquered death and offers us eternal life. As we reflect on His resurrection, help us to grasp the depth of Your love and the power of the empty tomb. May this service renew our faith and commitment to live for You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Scripture Readings

Luke 24:6–7 (NIV): "He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'"

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NIV): "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."

Message: "He Conquered Death—No Respawn Needed"

I. The Reality of Death

Minecraft is just a computer game.  A fund one, one that's been around a long time... but just a game.  In Minecraft, death is a temporary setback. Players can respawn and continue their adventures. However, in real life, death is final. Hebrews 9:27 tells us, "People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."

II. Jesus' Unique Victory

Unlike any other, Jesus died and rose again. His resurrection wasn't a reset or a second chance—it was a triumph over death itself. As Romans 6:9 states, "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him."

III. The Promise for Believers

Because Jesus lives, we too can have eternal life. John 11:25–26 records Jesus saying, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."

IV. Living in the Light of Resurrection

Just as Minecraft players build and create after respawning, we are called to live transformed lives because of Jesus' resurrection. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

Conclusion

Easter isn't about a temporary respawn; it's about a permanent resurrection.  And so much more... Resurrection is just part of the message! Jesus didn't just come back to life—He conquered death so that we might live eternally with Him. Let's celebrate this victory and live in the power of His resurrection every day.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for defeating death and offering us eternal life. Help us to live as new creations, reflecting Your love and grace. May we share this good news with others, so they too can experience the hope of resurrection. In Your name, Amen.
